Systems

Engineered ceiling, wall and floor acoustic systems — each a decoupled room-in-room build-up with INSUL-simulated STC, OITC and impact ratings.

Installation Principle

Room-in-Room Acoustic Isolation

Professional acoustic isolation uses a room-in-room construction principle — building a mechanically decoupled inner structure that prevents sound transmission through the building fabric.

Sound travels through both solid structures and air. To achieve effective insulation, the interior space is decoupled from the original walls, floors and ceilings so that sound and vibration cannot be directly transmitted — creating an isolated room-in-room structure separated from the existing building.

The approach combines three layers of defence: vibration dampers to decouple the inner room from the structure, mineral wool to absorb airborne sound within the cavity, and composite insulation boards to block remaining energy through the Mass-Spring-Mass principle. Every junction between inner and outer structure is a potential sound bridge, closed by shock dampers, damping tape and acoustic sealant.

Key Insight

Increasing panel thickness and weight helps only to a limited extent — doubling panel density adds roughly 6 dB. Professional insulation relies on a balanced combination of material, density, thickness and structural decoupling to reach high performance within limited space, rather than mass alone.
